Sarah Gonzalez

Chief Nursing Officer

Sarah Gonzalez comes to ESH with 19 years of nursing experience and 15 years of leadership experience. She is a critical care nurse by background and has lead as an ICU manager, critical care director, patient care services director and was most recently the Chief Nursing Officer at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Sarah earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Missouri – Columbia and graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University. She is board-certified as a Nurse Executive and has her specialty certification in Critical Care. Sarah is a member of the Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders, the American Nurses’ Association, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, Emergency Nurses’ Association and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. She also is a member of, and serves as President-elect for the Kansas City Area Nurse Executives.

In her spare time she is a Marathon team member for Ronald McDonald House Charities, fundraising and running in the Chicago Marathon every year.

Sarah is passionate about nursing and grew up in rural Missouri. She is excited to be back in the northland and part of an organization that is dedicated to caring for the community and its employees.
